We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be clearly communicated, and continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of updates.

Returns & refunds policy

This policy outlines the procedures and conditions for returns and refunds for purchases made from Beth Richardson. Our commitment is to ensure your satisfaction with your acquisition. Should your expectations not be entirely met, this document delineates our 30-day return window, the requisite return procedure, stipulations regarding shipping cost responsibilities, and the refund processing protocol.

Eligibility for Returns

To qualify for a return and a full refund, the following conditions must be strictly adhered to:

  • The return request must be initiated within 30 calendar days of the item's documented delivery date. This 30-day period commences on the day the artwork is received by the purchaser.

  • The item must be returned in its original, pristine, and unused condition, devoid of any damage, blemishes, or indications of wear.

  • The artwork must be presented in its original packaging or an equally protective alternative to safeguard against transit damage.

  • Proof of purchase, such as an order confirmation email or sales receipt, must be furnished upon request.

Returns that satisfy these criteria will be approved for a full refund. Please be advised that processing a refund may not be feasible if the item is returned in a used or damaged state (unless such damage is attributable to our error) or if the return request falls outside the stipulated 30-day window.

Non-returnable Items

The majority of our products are eligible for return, provided they meet the aforementioned conditions. It is not our general practice to sell items under a non-return policy. However, certain product categories are typically exempt from returns in retail environments, including:

  • Custom or personalised artwork, encompassing bespoke commissions or made-to-order pieces. These items are generally non-returnable unless a manufacturing defect is present. Prior notification will be provided if an ordered item is custom-made and, consequently, non-returnable.

Any product subject to a non-return or final sale policy will be explicitly indicated on its respective product page. It is imperative to note that your statutory consumer rights remain paramount: if an item arrives faulty, damaged, or not as described, a no-return policy will not abrogate your legal entitlement to a remedy. This returns policy serves as a complement to your statutory rights.

Procedure for Returning an Item

The initiation of a return is a straightforward process. Please observe the following steps:

  1. Request for Return: Please communicate your intention to return an item by utilising the contact form available on our official website. Kindly include your order number and a concise reason for the return; this information assists us in refining our services.

  2. Receipt of Instructions: We will furnish a prompt response, typically within 1–2 working days, confirming your return request. Detailed return instructions will be provided, including the designated return address and recommendations for secure packaging.

  3. Secure Packaging: Prepare the artwork for shipment. It is highly recommended to utilise the original packaging to ensure optimal protection. Please enclose your order confirmation or a note containing your order details within the parcel to facilitate the identification of your return.

  4. Shipment of Item: Dispatch the parcel to the specified return address. Please note that the responsibility for arranging and bearing the postage costs rests with the customer (refer to “Return Shipping Costs” below). We strongly advise employing a tracked postal service and obtaining proof of postage, as we cannot assume responsibility for items lost in transit. Your postage receipt will be instrumental should you need to file a claim with the courier.

Upon shipment of your return, you may elect to share the tracking number with us (though not obligatory). This enables us to monitor its progress. You will be notified via email once your returned item has been received and thoroughly inspected.

Return Shipping Costs

Customers are responsible for the postage costs associated with returning items when the return is predicated upon a change of mind or an unwanted item. We do not provide complimentary return shipping or pre-paid return labels in such circumstances.

Should the return be necessitated by an error on our part or a product defect (e.g., dispatch of an incorrect item, or receipt of a damaged/faulty item), we will bear the return shipping cost. In such instances, please contact us to facilitate the arrangement of a return label or the reimbursement of your shipping expenditures. For all other returns (e.g., a change of mind or the artwork not suiting your aesthetic), the cost of returning the item is the responsibility of the customer.

Refunds

Upon receipt of your returned item and confirmation that it satisfies our stipulated return conditions, the return will be approved, and your refund will be issued to your original payment method (e.g., credit/debit card, PayPal). An email notification will be dispatched once your refund has been processed.

Our objective is to process refunds expeditiously, typically within 7–10 working days of receiving your return. While processing may often occur sooner, we appreciate your forbearance as we undertake the artwork inspection and initiate the refund. In compliance with UK legislation, the refund will be completed within 14 days of receiving the returned goods (or agreeing to a refund). The refunded amount will correspond to the purchase price of the item, plus any standard delivery charge if applicable within a qualifying cancellation period. The reimbursement will be affected via your original payment method.

Following our processing of the refund, please allow additional time for your bank or card issuer to reflect the credit in your account. This delay is attributable to variable banking processing times. Should you have any concerns or fail to observe the refund after a further 5–7 days, please notify us and concurrently liaise with your payment provider.

Please note: We currently offer refunds for returns exclusively and do not facilitate direct exchanges or store credit. If your return is approved, a full refund will be disbursed, subject to the aforementioned terms.

Exchanges

We do not currently offer an exchange service for any items. All returns are processed solely as refunds; we do not accommodate like-for-like exchanges. Should you desire a different item, the most efficient course of action is to return the original item for a refund and subsequently place a new, separate order for your preferred piece.

This policy ensures that you receive your refund first, thereby enabling you to make a new purchase with assurance. We apologise for any inconvenience this approach may cause, but it assists us in maintaining clear and equitable processes.
